In March we said goodbye to Static. After 21 years of snuggles, purring, video gaming with Josh, and all of the amazing memories we could ever have with him Static left the earth. He is one of the most amazing cats I have ever had the privilege to be mom to and I will never forget our time together (though it wasn’t nearly as long as his time with Josh).
We took some time to adjust to life without Static and give Ari some extra snuggles and love. This past Saturday we welcomed a new baby kitty to our family. He is so precious. When we went to meet some kittens and see if any of them stood out to us this little guy exceeded our expectations. We haven’t named him yet as we want to get to know his personality a little better before naming him. This baby kitty came right up to Josh and I and made it clear right away that he wanted us to be his parents. He does the most adorable nose touching thing – when you pick him up he wants to touch his nose to yours. His big sister isn’t quite convinced yet that he is ok .. but we are slowly working on it. I can’t help but think that Static had some influence on this little kitty coming into our family – he is so snuggly (one of Static’s best traits) and he makes Josh smile like I haven’t seen in a while.
My sadness for Static is getting easier to live with every day and focusing on being a good mom to Ari and our new baby kitty helps me find a ray of sunshine each day.
Here are a few photos of kitty cuteness and snuggling
